Ascona is a picturesque Swiss town located on the northern shore of Lake Maggiore and very famous for its annual jazz festival. Ascona overlooks the lake with a breath taking panorama of the wild Alps and it's definitely a perfect place for passionate hikers and bikers.
Another scenic Swiss village is Zermatt lying at the foot of Materhorn. It is an enormous hiking and skiing resort with 400km hiking trails through the valley. The Matterhorn is 3883m high and it is known as the highest place in Europe, which can be reached by a cableway. The moutains look so majestic and the air is so thin it all feels so surreal..
