BELLA ITALIA

Italy is breath taking in many ways. We were lucky to see a tiny amazing bit of it - Lake Maggiore and the area surrounding it. Probably no words can describe its magnificent beauty, but hopefully our pictures will boost your imagination.

Stresa overlooks the beautiful Borromean Islands, one of the most picturesque and romantic scenery. Of course, we couldn't resist taking a photo of a Mini City, probably the most British thing you can see in Italy.

Orta San Giulio is the most memorable town we saw during our trip. It is actually situated in Lake Orta, known as "Cinderella" when compared to its more well known sisters - Lake Maggiore and Lake Como. The town mesmerised us with its narrow cobbled streets, misty and ethereal atmosphere and we love the fact that it persists from becoming a tourist place. Even many Italians do not know about it. For us, we couldn't be happier to find our small little secret garden in that ideal place.

Isola Bella & Isola Pescatori belong to the Boromean Islands and they are a must-see when you are visiting Lake Maggiore. Isola Bella is heavenly beautiful with its immaculate garden and grand built in baroque style palace, whereas Isola Pescatori is more rural but equally beautiful in a very different, down-to-earth way.

Milan, not surprisingly, wasn't our favourite, but it was worth seeing, especially the varieties of transportation :-) We guess we prefer the serenity and quiteness of less busy cities.

And last but not least, the very happy people behind the lenses :-)
